RACE DAY INFO

Basecamp will be the hub of all activity.
The Engine Shed, Pennine View Park, Kirkby Stephen, CA17 4SZ
All race registration will take place at Basecamp.
All races will Start & Finish here, we will have beers and drinks flowing, live music lined up, food and drink for both participants and spectators, plus lots more.

Ultra Yomp - Sat 13th June, 8am - ENTRIES CLOSED
Yomp Mountain Marathon - Sat 13th June, 9am - ENTRIES CLOSED

BASECAMP

LIVE TRACKERS

The ULTRA, MARATHON and 20K participants will all have live trackers on the day so you can watch your friends and family as they move along the route.

Costs

Online entry fees will be as follows

5k - £5 per entrant (U5's free)

10k - £10 per entrant

20k - £25 per entrant

Sunset Stroll - £15 online/£20 on day

Mountain Marathon - £50 per entrant

Ultra Yomp - £75 per entrant

Registration

Online Entries for ALL Routes is now closed.

On the day entries will be available for the 10k, 20k, 5k and Sunset Stroll.

There is no on the day entry for the ThruDark Mountain Marathon & Ultra.

Mountain Marathon Registration & Kit check - 6.30am - 8.30am

20k Registration & Entries - 9.30am-10.30am

10k Registration & Entries - 9.30am-11.30am

Sunset Registration & Entries - 5pm - 6pm

Check Points

All races will fully directed where appropriate with a sweeper at the back.

The Yomps will be fully way marked with flags at regular intervals.

There are regular marshalled checkpoints on all the courses.

The Mountain Marathon & The Ultra will be GPS tracked.

For the Finishers

All entrants will be timed via open tracking or GPS tracking.

Entrants in all events can run, walk or both - it is your Yomp, your challenge.

All finishers will receive a medal.

 

Medals/prizes will be awarded to winners in the various categories.

All Saturday race competitors will receive post race hot food.

EVENT DETAILS

YOMP CHECKLIST

  1. The event is open to everyone fit enough to do the route chosen and meeting the minimum age requirements. 

    • Ultra & Mountain Marathon - Over 18

    • 20k Yomp & Sunset Stroll - 16 & over

    • 10k Yomp - 5 & over

  2. All entrants under the age of 16 must obtain written permission to participate from their parent or guardian.  They must be accompanied throughout the event by a responsible adult participant authorised by their parent or guardian, with no more than four children with one adult. 

  3. No accompanying dogs allowed. 

  4. No bikes or powered vehicles allowed. 

  5. All checkpoints must be visited in the correct sequence. 

  6. Participants MUST inform the race organiser if the retire

  7. Race numbers are to be worn visibly throughout the race. 

  8. Participants are required to: (Mandatory for Ultra & Marathon, Recommended for 20K & 10K)

    1. Carry a map of the route - provided.

    2. Carry compass and whistle.

    3. Wear suitable clothing for the day and carry spare clothing including full body waterproofs.  Checks may be carried out before and during the race (Ultra & Marathon only). 

    4. Carry emergency food.

    5. Observe the countryside code. 

    6. Carry a fully charged mobile phone with its number logged at registration & the event HQ number stored in it

    7. Foil/Emergency Blanket - Ultra Only 

    8. Carry a headtorch - Ultra only

  9. A GPS navigation device is highly recomended for the Mountain Marathon & Ultra as parts of the route will not be flagged .
